Welcome to the Frequently Asked Questions section for the CLAY (Cultivating Legacy Among You) Program — where we help Atlanta’s youth grow into confident, purpose-driven leaders through mentorship, teamwork, and exposure to real-world opportunities.

Who can apply to join CLAY?

CLAY is open to Atlanta-area youth between the ages of 15 and 17 who demonstrate curiosity, leadership potential, and a willingness to learn from peers and mentors.

Is there a cost to participate?

No. There’s no cost to participate. CLAY is funded through community partnerships and sponsors who believe in developing tomorrow’s leaders today.

How often do participants meet?

Members are expected to join a one-hour in-person session once a month and a 30-minute virtual session (webinar) once per week. This schedule may be adjusted depending on group size and activities.

Where are meetings held?

In-person sessions will be hosted at local community and business venues across the Atlanta metro area. Details are provided in advance to approved members and their parents or guardians.

Can parents attend sessions?

Parents are welcome to attend select in-person meetings and events, especially those focused on community engagement or celebration. However, CLAY also creates space for youth-only dialogue and mentorship to encourage open growth and communication.

What will participants gain from joining?

Members develop leadership skills, networking experience, and exposure to professionals from multiple industries — while gaining confidence, communication skills, and a sense of purpose for their personal and professional growth.

How can organizations or mentors get involved?

Businesses, nonprofits, and professionals can support CLAY by becoming a Program Partner. Partnership opportunities include mentorship, sponsorship, volunteering, and hosting educational workshops or community events.
